Zone system

Zone System features a ten-tone scale. The Zones System is denoted by a roman numeral. The first digit of a roman number is pure black, V is an intermediate grey, and the last digit of a roman numeral zone system, X, is pure white. In the picture, the zone with the highest number is pure white, while the zone with the lowest number is pure black.

Zone i: near black, with slight tonality but no texture

zone iii: Average Dark materials and low values showing adequate texture

Zone iv: Average dark foliage; dark stone, or landscape shadows.

zone vi: Average Caucasian skin; light stone. shadows on snow in sunlit landscapes

zone viii: Lightes tone with textuew; glaring snow.
